Scrabble

Join the lovers of words on Friday afternoons as they challenge each other for the top score or just enjoy creating words. $5 per session.

You have bought a computer but now you want to use it. Join our Tutors on Thursday or Friday mornings when he will show you how to manage emails or simple Word documents.  No one will laugh at you but there will be laughter as everyone enjoys these sessions. It’s free!

Yoga Classes

MONDAY YOGA

Mondays from 8am – 9:15am.
This practice is a gentle Hatha yoga flow Suitable for beginners and on-going students,. This class aims to bring stretching and flow into your life that promotes strength, flexibility and stillness of mind
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one and wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely whilst stretching. Cost is $5 per session.

WEDNESDAY YOGA

Healthy Ageing yoga is held every Wednesday from 10am – 11:15am except the 4th Wednesday of each month. Cost is $5 per session. Suitable for beginners and on-going students, this class is designed to assist people with maintaining health, flexibility, strength and movement as we age. The Healthy Ageing Class also helps to calm the nervous system and bring about peace of mind. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the class. We ask that you leave your mobile phones either on silent or turned off during class.

Older Women’s Network (Qld) Inc (OWN)

is a network of groups of older women who celebrate the wit and wisdom of their lives. The program promotes discussion and action on healthy ageing, access to information, dealing with loss and change, and much more. OWN meets at Picabeen on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 10am to 12pm. Membership is $14 per year and $2 per meeting. OWN members meet for lunch after each meeting and on the last Saturday each month at a local venue. No meetings in January.

Older Women's Network

Playgroup

Join us for our playgroups on Fridays and Monday at Picabeen, 10am – 12pm Parents, grandparents and caregivers are welcome! We have arts and crafts, games, music and stories.

 

In addition Picabeen holds a number of community events throughout the year. Annual events include Harmony Day, Volunteer Recognition, Seniors Week activities and an End of Year celebration.
