The youth workers at Picabeen support young people aged 10-18 years in the North West corridor of Brisbane. Programs are aimed at increasing opportunities for young people to participate in positive local activities and to develop linkages with the broader community.
Our youth workers aim to address local needs of vulnerable young people using a variety of support strategies including 1:1 support; group work practices, early intervention and prevention targeted support.
Our youth team aim to provide individualised support and pathways, to empower young people with skills for self-determination and to gain life skills.
Based on recent collated data, Picabeen supports on average:
individuals per annum with intensive and targeted case management
young people with information and referral services
young people through early intervention and prevention group work activities
young people through targeted group work (e.g. anxiety support group)
young people through school holiday engagement activities
