Picabeen provides a range of activities which are all conducted by volunteers. The activities at Picabeen not only enhance people’s skills; they also serve to build interpersonal relationships and create a sense of belonging.

Monday Yoga
Hosted by Angie – Hata yoga, general yoga suitable for beginners and on-going students. Due to COVID you need to bring your own equipment and wear comfortable clothes – Charge – $8 – please book your spot by contacting us on 3354 2555
Thursday Beginners Art Classes
The Beginners Art Class hosted by Mark J has created some real masterpieces over time. Looking to learn a new skill or just enjoy the company of others while you create something new? Join them to learn or just to enjoy the creative atmosphere on Thursdays from 10 am to 12 noon – $5 charge
Friday Art Group
For serious Art Students – Painting pictures is enjoyable, satisfying, therapeutic, good for the soul, great for your social life, combats social isolation, and is good fun! – please bring some drawing paper, pencil and eraser – additional supplies at own expense

English Conversation
For people from Non English speaking backgrounds. A friendly group of people from many countries work with our tutors to improve their spoken and written English. All levels of skills welcome from none to basic. Join this free activity from 9:30am -11:30am on Fridays . No need to book.
Scrabble
Join the lovers of words on Friday mornings from 10 am as they challenge each other for the top score or just enjoy creating words. Gold coin donation appreciated
Basic Computer skills
One on one personal consultation or small group for basic computer skills such as emails, word documents, internet in comfortable surroundings – bookings essential – please ring 3354 2555 to arrange an appointment
Playgroup
Join us for our playgroups on Fridays and Monday at Picabeen, 9.30 am to 11.30 am- Parents, grandparents and caregivers are welcome! We have arts and crafts, ride on toys, music and stories, water and sand play. A great way to introduce children into social interactions while letting the parents socialise as well. Gold Coin donation appreciated to assist with the purchase of new materials
Sewing Circle
Get creative and make something wonderful or help in a group project while enjoying the social chatting and laughter. All are welcome – Gold Coin donation appreciated.
In addition Picabeen holds a number of community events throughout the year. Annual events include Harmony Day, Volunteer Recognition, Seniors Week activities and an End of Year celebration.
