Counselling
Support for individuals and families to build and maintain healthy relationships and manage the daily challenges of life is provided free of charge by Centacare Family and Relationship Services at Picabeen Community Centre on Tuesdays by appointment.
Free Tax Help
In the months of October and November each year, by appointment only, a free one hour consultation will help you submit your completed tax return on time.
Justice of the Peace
A Justice of the Peace service is offered by appointment from Monday to Thursday.
Food parcels
A very limited food pantry is available for people in need. Conditions apply.
No Interest Loan Scheme
No Interest Loans (NILS) provide individuals and families on low incomes with access to safe, fair and affordable credit.
Loans are available for essential goods and services such as fridges, washing machines, car repairs and medical procedures for up to $1,500. Repayments are set at an affordable amount over 12 to 18 months To be eligible for a NILS Loan you must have a Health Care of Pension Card or earn less than $45,000 a year – ($60,000 for couples or people with dependants) , have lived at your current address for at least 3 months and have the capacity to repay the loan
Narcotics Anonymous
Narcotics Anonymous is open to anyone seeking recovery and support persons are welcome. There is no need to book for meetings which start at 7pm on Monday evenings at Picabeen Community Centre. Many arrive at 6:45pm for a chat. There is no cost however a bowl is passed around for a donation to assist with room hire, tea and coffee, and to help others recover.
